New lovelies at my favorite shop for affordable uber-glam accessories; if I had not just bought the Kenneth Jay Lane serpent ring I posted here – that beauty would be mine – looks like it will have to settle for wishlist status for now. How I would love a rock like that about my neck - and the calfskin clutches studded with Swarovski crystal are especially delish…
wishlist item of the week: gray matter
Eileen Gray could easily be identified as one of the most influential women of the Modern movement. As an artist, furniture designer and interior designer in the 1920’s, she was heavily influenced by the Modern Dutch movement of De Stijl and drew on the geometric forms of the movement as inspiration in both her furniture as well as her interiors. In the late 1920’s, Gray began to concentrate her efforts primarily on architecture – her work was represented by LeCorbusier’s “Pavillion des Temps Nouveaux” and much like LeCorbu, her work during the time has become synonymous with Modern design. One such example of this cross over can be seen in her celebrated side table – pictured here with LeCorbu’s LC2 Armchairs. Though the overall form is rather straightforward – it’s execution is flawless, resulting in an iconic piece that has – and will continue – to transcend time. Needless to say, it is on my wishlist…

I LOVE this top by Development– it is sophisticated while infusing a bit of understated historical referencing into an outfit – the collar reminds me so much of an Egyptian collar piece and I find the overall shape to be so flatteringly…

I have been eyeing this melamine dinnerware line from Target since it hit the shelves earlier this summer – why I haven’t pulled out the wallet is beyond me – the pieces are so beautiful and are so reasonably priced – okay, I think I just talked myself into it – finally.

Thank you so much to Courtney of the ever-stylish style court for directing my attention to Anthropologie’s latest jewels – she sent me a link to ophidian and I am smitten – maybe it’s the snake obsession I currently embrace – or maybe it’s the fact that this gorgeous piece is studded with rubies, sapphires and emeralds – it is sublime and looking like a must-add to my wish list of possible anniversary presents! If you haven't noticed, I am a little jewelry obsessed - my current love is Blend Creations – not only are their necklaces uniquely timeless with “it” girl appeal – their paper goods are equally divine. My wishlist currently comprises several pieces from the their Washi line – so simple, yet utterly refined – I love the Pink Blossom on Green as well as Pink Tulips on Cream. And I especially love the modern edge of the Streetscape Series card set… some truly fabulous goods on this site!
