tord for target...

Tord_2

I simply cannot contain my excitement about this – Tord Boontje has designed a set of stoneware dinnerware for Target – do you hear angels singing?  It is no secret I am a bit of a fan of his work… thank you Holly for this wonderful news!

Iglubu2

In my opinion, it is NEVER too early to start holiday shopping – by stocking up on great finds throughout the year I can happily avoid the dreaded rush in December.  Another great reason to stock up now – sales.  One of the most darling online boutiques – iglubu – is not only hosting a site wide sale through 11 November – something new will be featured daily with a I-must-have–this discount.  The absolute best part is that they are using this promotion to introduce the new seasonal line up of handbags, clutches and wristlets – something new to see nearly everyday – now if that’s not a reason to visit often, I don’t know what is…

my friend flicka...

Flicka

After finally deciding on a laptop I ended up with a beautiful new MacBook – yes, it has been a nightmare trying to move all of my PC based files over – but all my Mac friends say it is worth it in the end.  Its smooth, glossy surface begged for outerwear and I found an indie designer who could oblige.  Flicka launched when designer Alive Cervantes was working as a news reporter – while on assignment she noticed the plethora of drab, lifeless laptop cases she and her colleges all carried and knew it was time for a colorful change.  Her Etsy shop is full of beautiful bags – I just received mine and absolutely love it – it is a perfect fit and an ideal shape to toss (gently) into the bottomless pit that is my purse - and at that price point I can have one in every pattern.

wishlist goodie(s) of the week...

Swar

New lovelies at my favorite shop for affordable uber-glam accessories; if I had not just bought the Kenneth Jay Lane serpent ring I posted here – that beauty would be mine – looks like it will have to settle for wishlist status for now.  How I would love a rock like that about my neck - and the calfskin clutches studded with Swarovski crystal are especially delish…

Yndigo

Kim Lyons is the designer behind Yndigo – an incredible line of jewels that beg you to pack your bags and take off to an exotic local.   Kim’s awards as a designer include Best Indie Women’s Accessory (Jewelry) at the 2003 Indie Fashion Awards and a nomination for the Fashion Group International’s 8th Annual Rising Star Awards – Accessories (2005).  I love this piece pictured - rock this with a sarong and a Pina Colada!  Athena Says readers receive 15% off their order - just enter ATHENA at checkout.

Deezigns

Dee-zigns is full of beautiful little baubles – designer Toni Johnson has quite a discerning eye for color.  My favorite is the Alexandra, pictured here – handcrafted of Peruvian opals and amazonite – it is a gorgeous double strand of pure enchantment.

Creativeoutlet

I am loving the new Mom Boutique at Creative Outlet Designs.  Run by designer Megan whose re-structured children’s jeans I fell in love with some time ago – her latest collection features her signature Shaggy Mosaic style.  The prints she uses together are all at once unexpected and beautiful – the best part?  She embellishes your favorite pair of jeans so you are sure to get a perfect fit!
