My love for rings is simple and straight forward – the bigger the better. As I was walking through a local department store yesterday, this piece began whispering my name – as I moved closer – I swear – it screamed. From the unbelievably cool and ever so hip rock ‘n roll Betsey Johnson comes a very Betsey jewelry collection. The pieces are huge and flashy – not in a bling-bling way – but a Sid Vicious meets Madonna way. I had to have this piece – it measures 2.5 inches long and 2 inches across – a true knuckle grazer! I can’t seem to find the ring anywhere online, but you can check out more of her collection at Nordstrom’s!
I find the new Muse Jewelry Collection at Wedgwood utterly captivating. The black and white cameos are so classic – yet so right now – and the crystal beads only accentuate the beauty of these pieces. I also love the surprising combination of the pink and green brooch. To be restocked soon through the UK site at Wedgwood.

No – it’s not a silver bowl – it is the Torque Bangle by Frank Gehry for Tiffany. One of the most prolific architects of our time has joined forces with the premier jeweler to create an incredibly diverse collection. This is by far my favorite piece - the lines are reminiscent of his hallmark buildings and the brushed metal curved edging adds an unpretentious look of sophistication to an otherwise simple geometric piece.
The juxtaposition of rough meets refined – scarred metal coupled with a brilliant solitaire; sleek embracing raw elements – Cosa Fina’s collections are utterly captivating…
Several years ago, while living abroad, my husband and I spent a deliciously cold weekend in Brussels – the city had some of the most amazing shopping I can recall from my travels. One of my favorite purchases on that trip was my Ruby Galet ring from the Baccarat store. While I am still very much in love with it – I can’t help but feeling completely smitten with their Cabochon Collection – especially this piece – the full-lead onyx crystal combined with a delicate ring of 18k gold is gorgeous – so refined – yet the black gives it the edge I crave.
Inspired by every talented woman who dares put pen to paper – from the greatest writers of our time to those of you who will one day conquer the world with words, the Calliope collection – named for the Greek muse of epic poetry – features vintage pen nibs and freshwater pearls. Maybe it’s the snake-like tentacles or the symbology of a multi-armed creature, but I cannot get enough of octopus imagery. When I found this necklace at day-lab – I knew I had to have it – I received it yesterday and have yet to take it off (except for the short period in which my daughter insisted on wearing it!) – I feel like I have eight arms – two to hold each of my daughters close, several for the creative processes I am constantly exploring – and several arms that are not yet in use… the concept completely inspires me and makes me want to branch out and try new things – take a letterpress class, design tableware, paint on a canvas the size of a wall, write more – I think I am running out of arms… These beautiful brass animals (including the horse and bird) are currently backordered but so worth the wait.
Thank you so much to Courtney of the ever-stylish style court for directing my attention to Anthropologie’s latest jewels – she sent me a link to ophidian and I am smitten – maybe it’s the snake obsession I currently embrace – or maybe it’s the fact that this gorgeous piece is studded with rubies, sapphires and emeralds – it is sublime and looking like a must-add to my wish list of possible anniversary presents! Thank you Courtney!
