Juniper Designs has a new face – that of the exquisite Amy Haney – my goddess-printmaker-soul-sister. Her look brings a fresh edge to the shop. Amy was shot by a local photographer, Amiee Photographs – Amiee not only shoots breathtaking work, she was sooo much fun to work with. I feel to blessed to have established a relationship with her now as she is on the brink of breaking out nationally – she is amazing – to check out some of her recent work, click here.
The not so good news - Juniper Home will not be ready for a Fall 2006 launch. The great news – it will be bigger and more fabulous than I had originally imagined with a Spring 2007 launch – plus sneak peeks throughout the next few months {like this pillow from the Aphrodite Collection pictured above!}
Though my daughter Ayla is named for the Terebinth tree – the tree that my husband and I planted on our first date at the Jewish National Forest in Israel – her name is also translated in Hebrew to Oak Tree. Naturally, I could not resist picking up this gold-dipped Leafy Oak leaf in the Black Hills. Upon arriving home I added the aquamarine, as it is Adie’s birthstone. I can’t seem to take this off! And to my delight, as we were enjoying the Living History Days in Nebraska City this weekend (home of the Arbor Day Foundation), I found gold dipped Pointed Oak leaf earrings – I will have to add some embellishments to those as well – ahhh – I love Fall. For Autumn inspired piece, be sure to visit one of my favorite designers – Dreams&Jewelry whose new collections are truly breathtaking!
One more thing to sneak in before the weekend – I have known about this for a while, but didn’t want to jinx it! Wicked is featured in the new issue of BUST! I actually had a nightmare that it would be totally covered by clothes and you couldn’t see it – well, it’s only half-way covered with clothes!
I am so excited to be a part of Indie for Awareness – a fantastic collaboration of 31 of the hottest indie designers donating portions of sales to various breast cancer foundations. This is a cause that is incredibly important to me – we all seem to have a personal story to tell. At Juniper, the Hope Necklace is our contribution to the cause - our signature keyhole was chosen for this project not only for it’s overtly feminine connotation, but for the symbology in the element itself; what lies beyond the door is hope…
