Styleme

... and more blog love - Abby emailed me a while back introducing me to her new wedding blog, Style Me Pretty.  It was just recently that I had some time to really take a look at her site - it is gorgeous - not just "pretty" - so, so gorgeous!  Regardless if you are a bride-to-be or not, Abby's blog is full of beauty and inspiration.  {layout from Style Me Pretty - photos and cupcakes by Kylie Lambert}

Newblog

I was lucky enough to have Joy of the new blog Of Amity & Allure post a comment yesterday - otherwise I am not sure when I would have discovered this beautiful new read.  The image above features the work of designer Lene Bjerre via Joy's blog via imedagoze - beyond lovely and utter inspiration for my new kitchen...

find of the week: t is for table...

Ttable_1

I absolutely love the T Tables by designer Patricia Urquiola – crafted of shatterproof plastic, it is a modern interpretation of the designer fascination with antique embroideries and veils.  I just can’t decide if I love the black or crystal best… available at DWR.

find of the week: blossom luxe...

Blossomluxe

I am in love, love, love with the work of designer Emily Barnes of Blossom Luxe.  Her pieces are all at once sophisticated and ethereal.  Her Etsy shop is full of luscious jewels like the Sea Nymph earrings pictured above.  And if you are an aspiring jewelry designer, or simply need your fill of eye candy, be sure to also check out Emily’s blog where you will find well written and easy to follow beading tutorials.  What a find!

find of the week: oh frank...

Frank1

No – it’s not a silver bowl – it is the Torque Bangle by Frank Gehry for Tiffany.  One of the most prolific architects of our time has joined forces with the premier jeweler to create an incredibly diverse collection.  This is by far my favorite piece  - the lines are reminiscent of his hallmark buildings and the brushed metal curved edging adds an unpretentious look of sophistication to an otherwise simple geometric piece.

find of the week: thinking of you...

Steelvases

I am such a fan of Tord Boontje’s work – his latest collection, available at DWR – brings his signature aesthetic to a new level – literally.  While his garland pendant lamps have taken the design world by store, he has created a new medium in which to employ the same airy, garland look in a sort of make-your-own vase.  Each piece in the "Thinking of You" collection is laser cut steel that arrives in a flat pack – you shape the piece to your liking around any bottle, vase or planter to create a one of a kind centerpiece that truly will define a space.  They can be purchased separately or in a pack of three (one of each design) for $99. These pieces would be stunning lined up on a mantel to create a unique sculpture garden – gorgeous!

find of the week: plueys...

Plueys

If you are a regular reader you know how much I adore a good pair of wellies – as does a certain princess in the house.  As such, I am loving the new site Plueys – delightfully whimsical wellies that make you want to do a rain dance just for an excuse to throw them on – be sure to check out the adorable umbrellas as well – I am serious – you will be praying for rain!

p.s.  LOVE the way they are photographed! {image from Plueys site}

find of the week: who wants seconds?

I have a confession to make – sometimes – when I cook – I pretend I have a show on the Food Network.  I don’t talk out loud – or look up to an invisible audience or camera – but I do narrate in my head – I am a little food obsessed.  After my first go at college I worked at numerous bakeries and patisseries, eventually working as the lead apprentice to a Pastry Chef at a Hotel restaurant.  I was in process of applying to the Pastry program at the Culinary Institute of America when I was slapped with a dose of insanity and decided to join the Navy and move to Italy instead.  I have no regrets about any of my life decisions, but I often wonder where I would be had I followed that path.  Needlesstosay, I am a fan of dessert – in its purest form to it’s most complex; and in turn I am in love with my new discovery – the Ex-Pat blog Who Wants Seconds.  The simple, easy to follow recipes are wonderfully written and the photography is simply sublime – and though she blogs about all sorts of dishes, her dessert page is delish - don’t be surprised if your sweet tooth begins to throb while cruising though this delightful site.
